EARTHSQUAD BRINGS “COOL” TO RECYCLING

Gamification, real information, and do-able activities

all aimed at making the world a better place

Lanarka, Cyprus, October 10, 2018– The EarthSquad is the next step in the evolution of recycling. Even though many communities in the world require recycling, few share any information about what happens to recycled items, how people can help make the world a better place, or how to report illegal dumps. The EarthSquad has also created a smartphone app, DROPS, that gamifies recycling and puts environmental change at users’ fingertips. More information is available at https://www.EarthSquad.global.

“We wanted to make ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ cooler. There is so much information in the world, but so little that people learn about something that is in every room of their house: trash,” The EarthSquad founder, Bernhard Buhl, said. “We do more than just talk about how to recycle or even why, we talk about how each person can help to create change in their own communities and the rest of the world.”

October 1 marked the launch of The EarthSquad and their app, DROPS. The purpose is to put the right information into the hands of consumer everywhere.
EarthSquad.global includes a number of resources for interested visitors:
  •         Forum – The forum is a place to discuss recycling and helping to keep the earth clean. The wisdom of the crowd is always the most powerful. By creating a forum that anyone can access, people all over the world can ask questions, get answers, and even organize.
  •         Blog – The EarthSquad blog provides useful and interesting information about recycling, reduction of goods, and even ways to report those who are breaking the law and impacting the environment.
  •         The DROPS App – The app is the mobile version of this dynamic idea. The app provides badges for recycling, gamifying the idea of making the world a cleaner, better place. https://drops.earthsquad.global/login

Meet your garbage! A major goal of the movement is sharing an understanding of our trash. We can learn to eliminate it, reuse it, and even create a biofuel processing plant that a community can install and eliminate landfill waste.

"The EarthSquad started rolling on 1st October 2018 after 10 months of development. Now we grow!"

The EarthSquad was created by a group of environmental enthusiasts. In a collective way, they gather information, look for ways to be active, and support the work of people all over the world. Since the group is not part of any government or even larger environmental organization, they have no political agenda to answer to. This type of collective activism also helps to make the actions of each individual, even more important.
